Jonathan is based in south London, but is spending increasing amounts of time in Italy. He grew up on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon and took a rambling route to the capital via Warwickshire, Umbria, India, Patagonia, France, Mexico, Northern Ireland and quite a few places in between.

Jonathan's writing career began on regional newspapers (high point, giant sunflower correspondent) before he became embroiled in the murky world of men's lifestyle magazines. It was but a small step from here to the cultured environs of the Financial Times, the Guardian, Prestel publishing and London's leading entertainment guide, Time Out.

Jonathan spends much of his time abroad. When at home he likes to regale his friends with tales of camel racing in the Indian Thar desert, truly hopeless tango dancing in Argentina and his on-the-cusp-of-greatness musical career.
